Embiid suffered the injury in the Sixers' 119-107 loss to the Warriors after Golden State power forward Jonathan Kuminga fell on his left leg with 4:04 left in the game. Embiid wound up playing 20 minutes in the second half and 37 total. He finished with 29 points on 8-for-22 shooting and 11-for-12 from the free throw line, eight rebounds, and six assists.
This is a significant blow to the Sixers, who are already without Tyrese Maxey (foot) for an extended period. Embiid is the team's leading scorer and rebounder, and his absence will be felt on both ends of the court.
The Sixers will provide an update on Embiid's status once he has undergone further evaluation.
